Comprehensive Wellness Exams & Preventive Care
At The Animal Doctors, we believe that preventive pet care is the foundation for a long and healthy life. Bringing your pet in for regular checkups will help protect him or her from many of the common ailments that can affect companion animals, or at least delay their onset and progression. You’ll also give us the opportunity to identify and address potential health problems early, before they become life-threatening. These simple things can add years to your pet’s life.
There are many vaccinations available for dogs and cats. Our well-educated doctors and staff will help you decide what is the best recommendation for your pet’s lifestyle. Not every pet needs every vaccination, and as pets age the recommendations may change. Our goal is to give you the best advice to keep your pet protected and healthy.
Beginning with a puppy and kitten care consultation, we offer extended visits with our knowledgeable staff to help you understand a young animal's needs. We teach low-stress handling skills to make the visits fun for your little ones!

Our K9 Vaccines Are Changing - As Of April 1st, 2026!
We are getting ready to launch our updated DOG vaccines!!!
This is exciting news for us AND for your dogs!
What's NOT changing:
DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) Vaccine will still be available as its own vaccine, but we are changing vaccine companies.
Rabies Vaccine
Bordetella Vaccine (oral mist form and injectable form)
What IS changing:
We are no longer carrying separate Leptospirosis and Lyme vaccines.
We have a combination vaccine for DHPP + Lepto + Lyme for puppies/dogs due for all three vaccines!
We have a combination vaccine for Lepto + Lyme for puppies/dogs due for only these vaccines!
What does this mean for your dog?
It means nothing if your dog is vaccinated for DHPP, Rabies, +/- Bordetella only!
For everyone else, it means fewer pokes, fewer chances for vaccine reactions, and fewer vaccine visits per year!
Fewer dogs will need to come back for a second visit when they are due for EVERYTHING! (We may still have very small dogs due for everything come back for a second visit to further reduce chances for a vaccine reaction.)
Fewer clients will have to juggle scheduling multiple vaccine visits in order to get maximal vaccine coverage for their puppies and dogs!
We will have more open appointments that were once utilized for second-trip vaccine appointments!
But, wait! What happens if your dog has only been vaccinated for Lepto or Lyme (but not both) in the past?
We will be talking with you at your appointment about vaccinating your dog with the Lepto and Lyme vaccine combo. (We are no longer carrying these as separate vaccines.) These dogs WILL need a second vaccine 3-4 weeks later to booster the portion of the vaccine that they have never previously had. Then, they will be protected for a full year.
If your dog is exposed to areas where there is Leptospirosis, then your dog is also exposed to Lyme. We need to be protecting your dog against BOTH of these bacterial organisms. Leptospirosis is zoonotic, meaning people can get it from coming into contact with infected animals!
But, what if your dog has had a previous vaccine reaction to Lepto or Lyme?
We will be discussing these with individual clients and will be getting assistance from veterinarians working with the company that makes the vaccines in order to make the best and safest recommendations for these dogs.
We are excited to be able to offer this new protocol to our clients and their dogs! We will be talking about these with you at your dog's next wellness appointment! Please call our office if you have any questions or concerns!
