“Stoop and you will be stepped on. Stand tall and you’ll be shot at.” - Jess Keating

Meggan Reed had been in the field of veterinary medicine for nearly a decade before joining our clinic family in early 2026. She spent many years in the beautiful state of Colorado, obtaining her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Front Range Community College (Colorado) and taking on the role of lead veterinary technician at her former multi-doctor small animal practice before returning to her native roots of NNY - she is originally from Barnes Corners and graduated from Copenhagen Central School! She holds a RVT license from Colorado and an LVT license from New York. She also has a BA in Art Education and Painting! Meggan chose the path of veterinary medicine because she feels that animals are “literally the BEST,” and because she really enjoys reassuring pet owners that their pets are receiving the absolute best care possible. When asked why she chose The Animal Doctors, she said that this clinic offered a high standard of care, that it was highly recommended by other people that she knew, and that its core values aligned with her own.

Meggan is particularly interested in anesthesia and surgery and has a strong background in managing patients in the peri-operative setting. Certified in veterinary CPR, Meggan is no stranger to emergency care. She has a keen interest in creating emergency care protocols and educating clients about different aspects of their pets’ health. She is a big proponent of fear-free practice and is one of the calmest and quietest team members we have, providing as much of a peaceful environment as possible for the patients that she is taking care of. We are so incredibly lucky to have Meggan joining us and look forward to learning a lot of new things from her!

In her free time, Meggan enjoys being outdoors, delving into art, and doing fitness-related activities. She loves to read most genres of books, and her favorite movie is Amelie. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her two beautiful, special dogs, Ronxso and Goose. A fun fact about Meggan is that she loves to rollerskate!
