“I don’t do humans.” - Ace Ventura

Colleen Kilroy, one of our licensed veterinary technicians, is a northern NY native, having grown up in the smaller towns of Morristown, Ogdensburg, and Potsdam. She has been involved in the veterinary profession in different capacities for the last 28 years and has a wealth of knowledge to share! She said that she has always had a deep connection to animals and has always wanted to work with them. She has a particular interest in animal dentistry and hopes to gain more knowledge and practice with that over time.

Not only is Colleen an LVT, but she is also a CPDT - a certified professional dog trainer! This background in canine behavior and training provides her with a deeper perspective of canine behavioral problems and disorders, which comes in extremely handy in this profession! Behavioral problems are one of the top subjects that we get asked about in this profession! Colleen is also certified in CPR!

When asked why she chose The Animal Doctors, Colleen said that she likes the people and the atmosphere that comes along with them, as well as the quality of services that we provide.

Colleen has a quiet, gentle way about her and is well in-tune with the pets in her care. She is Fear-Free Certified, as well, and understands the importance of providing the lowest-stress visit as possible for our clients’ pets.

In Colleen’s spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, making crafts, listening to eclectic music, and dreaming about Ireland and Australia. She also loves spending time with her two handsome kitties, Garrett and Scooter.

A fun and quirky fact about Colleen is that she is related to the guy who started the phrase, “Kilroy Was Here.”
