“I’m not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.” - Michael Scott (The Office)
Janna Ryor is a northern NY native, hailing from Calcium, NY! After receiving her Associates in Science degree from Jefferson Community College in 2017, she pursued her Associates in Applied Science from SUNY Canton, graduating during the height of the 2020 pandemic with her veterinary technology degree! She is lovingly known as Janna Banana to her friends! She has worked in a couple of different bigger hospitals in northern and central NY, then joined our team in 2026. Right from the beginning, Janna fit into The Animal Doctors team with her passion for giving patients the best and gentlest care possible and her easy-going demeanor. She won a serious number of “cool points” from a few members of the team for being a lover of all things pink, including her sneakers and her lunch bag! She is the go-to person on the team for help with nail trims! She carries her own small set of nail clippers in her pocket and can trim nails faster than we’ve ever seen! In her “spare time,” Janna has a side business of in-home nail trimming, ear cleaning, and expressing anal glands for pets!
When asked why she chose The Animal Doctors, she said that the clinic team was phenomenal, supportive, and friendly and that patients received great care. Janna’s presence has certainly made that statement all the more real! She has a very strong work ethic and is always willing to help other team members out whenever it’s needed! Janna has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasound) and exotic animal care!
In her free time - besides being the nail trimmer extraordinaire - Janna enjoys taking walks with her sweet pug, Pickles, taking naps, reading, four wheeling, and watching Netflix. A fun fact about Janna is that she considers herself to be the “Crazy Pug Lady” and has a very large number of Pug-themed items that she owns! Not only is she a Pug lover, but she is also a guinea pig lover! She shares her home with Pickles (the Pug), Bill Nye (the guinea pig), and Hamilton (the guinea pig). She also adopted a kitten recently - a little tuxedo kitten named Tumbleweed!
We are so grateful to have Janna as part of our team!
